26/09/2014 : Eunice Sofia Da Silva Fernandes and Sameer Joshi, CIC biomaGUNE, Spain - “Basic Introduction to Radiochemistry & PET”
To spread the RADIOMI project work and the importance of radiochemistry and nuclear imaging inside the Basque academic community in Spain, we decided to organise an OPEN DAY session in our laboratory. Read more
15/09/2014 : Thomas Keller, University of Turku, Finland - "Positron Emission Tomography (PET) at Turku"
The outreach activity consisted of a talk introducing the basics of positron emission tomography (PET), the Turku PET centre as well as the various aspects of PET in a clinical setting. During the talk, RADIOMI was briefly introduced as a project, important in furthering research in the field of radiochemistry, spanning universities throughout Europe with close collaboration amongst the different institutions. This was later elaborated on in the questions, when asked by a student my reasons for choosing the Turku PET Centre as a place for my PhD research. Read more
15/08/2014 : Ulrike Filp and Aleksandra Pekošak, VUMC, The Netherlands - "Being a scientist in a European funded project"
Marie Curie once said: “A scientist in his laboratory is not a mere technician: he is also a child confronting natural phenomena that impress him as though they were fairy tales.” Read the article, published in the Summer 2014 Newsletter of the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Department, VUMC.
05/07/2014 : Gregor Cremosnik and Lukas Pfeifer, UOXF, UK - RADIOMI reporters at "Fluorine - Academia Meets Industry" St Andrews'14
Lukas Pfeifer won the first prize for a student lecture. He presented a new catalytic method for the hydrofluorination of styrene. This work was recently published in Angewandte Chemie Int. Ed. Read more
25/04/2014 : Ulrike Filp, VUMC, The Netherlands - RADIOMI reporter at ESRR'14
At this symposium, I had the chance to present my work with a poster and poster presentation. I showed the results we have already obtained at VUMC on synthesis of carbon-11 labeled peptides. Since the RADIOMI students from Cic biomaGUNE, Spain, and colleagues from VUmc were also attending this conference, we could share our progress and knowledge. During the poster session, we had a few discussions. We pointed out that when working as part of a larger community, as it is possible for us in RADIOMI, we have the ability to gain knowledge and insights also from other laboratories. Read more
17/01/2014 : Aleksandra Pekošak, VUMC, The Netherlands - NKRV Workshop
For me, as a new RADIOMI student, the meeting was useful as I got to know other peoples' work and their problems during research, and also gathered some useful information and ideas for my project. Read more
26/12/2013 : Aleksandra Pekošak, VUMC, The Netherlands - "Knowledge without borders"
This meeting was an opportunity to present the RADIOMI project, in which I am involved, give a short overview of the project aim, students (ESRs) and locations of participating universities and medical centers, etc. Read more
